### 101 Directions relating to non-compliant notifiable building work
> > (1) After inspecting notifiable building work under [section 100](#GS100@EN) , a building surveyor may direct the responsible person for the work to perform the building work so that it complies with –
> >
> > > > (a) the certificate of likely compliance (notifiable building work) issued in respect of the work; and
> > >
> > > > (b) the notice of work given in respect of the work.

> > (2) A direction under [subsection (1)](#GS101@Gs1@EN) may be given orally or in writing.
>
> > (3) A person who gives an oral direction under [subsection (1)](#GS101@Gs1@EN) is to confirm it in writing, to the person to whom it was given, within the prescribed period.
>
> > (4) If a person fails to comply with a direction under [subsection (1)](#GS101@Gs1@EN) , the building surveyor may –
> >
> > > > (a) issue a building notice under [section 237](#GS237@EN) in respect of the work specified in the direction; and
> > >
> > > > (b) take any other appropriate action under this Act.
