48A Building work by building contractors (1) A person must not commence or continue to carry out prescribed building work unless the person is: (a) a building contractor registered to carry out the building work as specified in the Regulations; or (b) being supervised by a building contractor mentioned in paragraph (a) in accordance with the Regulations. subsection (1) if: amount for the building work; or (b) the defendant is an owner-builder carrying out building work that the defendant is permitted to carry out under the owner- builder certificate. (3) For subsection (2)(a), the Regulations may prescribe different amounts for different kinds of prescribed building work.
