31 Investigation may be extended to other matters and other building practitioners (1) This section applies if, in the course of the investigation, the Director forms the view that a matter that is not the subject of the complaint being investigated could have been the subject of: (a) another complaint about the building practitioner being investigated; or (b) a complaint about another building practitioner. (2) The Director may extend the investigation to include the matter if the Director considers it appropriate to do so. (3) If the investigation is extended to include the matter, the Director must, by notice in the approved form: (a) inform the building practitioner to whom the matter relates of the particulars of the matter and that the investigation has been extended to include the matter; and (b) invite the practitioner to respond to the Director about the matter within the specified time (which must be at least 5 working days after the notice is given).
