114 Building orders to stop building work (1) Where, in the opinion of the Director, building work on land contravenes this Act or the Regulations, is a danger to the public or affects the support of adjoining property, the Director may make a building order requiring the owner or other person carrying out the Building Act 1993 102 work to stop the work, notwithstanding that a building notice has not been served. (2) The Director must serve a copy of the order on a person apparently in charge of a site on which the building work is being carried out.
