This Act has been repealed and is no longer in force. It is retained for historical reference.
This Determination sets the deadline for ending analog TV broadcasts in the Northern New South Wales TV1 licence area (covering regions like Lismore and Grafton).
During a simulcast period, TV stations must broadcast identical content using both old analog signals and new digital signals. This gives households time to upgrade their TVs or buy set-top boxes before the old system shuts down.
This law fixes the end of that transition period as 3 December 2013 for this specific region. After this date:
The Australian Communications and Media Authority (ACMA) had already defined the geographical boundaries of this licence area in a separate plan.
