sec.30 Deciding ordinary member positions—inviting nominees [SM, s 38 ]
This section applies if, at an annual general meeting, the number of the ordinary members plus the number of executive members of the committee is less than the maximum number of voting members for the committee. The person chairing the meeting must invite nominations at the meeting for the number of ordinary member positions necessary to bring the total number of voting members for the committee to the maximum number. If nominations are called for under subsection (2) and 1 co-owner of a lot has been elected as a member of the committee, not more than 1 other co-owner of the lot may be nominated for an ordinary member position if necessary to bring the total number of voting members of the committee to 3. The person chairing the meeting— must invite nominations for the position or positions at the meeting; and must accept nominations that are made in either of the following ways— by a member of the body corporate who is present at the meeting; in writing, by a member of the body corporate not present at the meeting. A member of the body corporate may nominate, under subsection (4) (b) , not more than 1 person for all ordinary member positions for which nominations are invited. Subsection (5) applies even if the member is the owner of more than 1 lot included in the community titles scheme.
