#### 42 Notifying purchaser about chemical status of animal 42 Notifying purchaser about chemical status of animal > The vendor of a food producing animal must (before or at the time of the sale) inform the purchaser if— > > > (a) the animal has (within the 60 days before the sale) consumed anything treated with a chemical product during the withholding period (within the meaning of the Agvet Code) for that chemical product, or > > > (b) the animal is chemically affected within the meaning of section 13(2) of the Act, or > > > (c) the animal has at any time been treated with a hormonal growth promotant (being a veterinary chemical product containing one or more substances that promote oestrogenic, androgenic or gestagenic activity to enhance growth or production (or both) in cattle).
