Commonwealth legislation
This Act has been repealed and is no longer in force. It is retained for historical reference.
This instrument designates the Port of Cocos (Keeling) Islands as a "first point of entry" under Australia's biosecurity laws, enabling officers to inspect arriving vessels and goods for pests, diseases and other risks. It applies to ship operators, importers and biosecurity personnel responsible for the external territory. The designation covered both vessels and goods, carried no special conditions or internal sub-areas, and automatically repealed on 15 June 2022.
