83 Group exemptions—declaration (1) The director-general may, on request or on the director-general’s own initiative, declare that a stated class of people is exempt from a stated provision of this Act (a group exemption).

Group exemptions Division 5.2 (2) However, the director-general must not declare a group exemption— (a) if satisfied the biosecurity risk associated with the exemption is unacceptable; or (b) on any ground prescribed by regulation. (3) A group exemption is a notifiable instrument.
