306  Manner of giving directions etc.  (1) A direction may be given or varied under this Division by any means of communication (including by electronic means).  (2) Notice of revocation of a direction under this Division may be given by any means of communication (including by electronic means).  (a) a direction is given, or is varied or revoked, under this Division; and  (b) the direction is given, varied or revoked otherwise than in writing; the person who gave, varied or revoked the direction must give the recipient of the direction a written notice setting out the effect of the direction, variation or revocation.  (4) If a direction under this Division is given in writing, the direction is not a legislative instrument.  (5) A notice under subsection (3) is not a legislative instrument.
