> > (1) In this clause—
> >
> > existing authorised officer means a person who was, immediately before the commencement of the new Act—
> >
> > > (a) an authorised officer appointed under section 34 of the [Native Vegetation Act 2003](/view/html/repealed/current/act-2003-103), or
> >
> > > (b) an authorised officer appointed as referred to in section 156B of the [National Parks and Wildlife Act 1974](/view/html/inforce/current/act-1974-080).

> > (2) An existing authorised officer is taken to have been appointed under section 12.4 of the new Act as an authorised officer without limitation of the functions the person may exercise as an authorised officer under the new Act. The Environment Agency Head may, after the commencement of the new Act, terminate the operation of this subclause in relation to a person and may appoint the person as an authorised officer under and in accordance with section 12.4 of the new Act.

> > (3) An identification issued to an existing authorised officer under section 34 of the [Native Vegetation Act 2003](/view/html/repealed/current/act-2003-103), or in accordance with section 156B of the [National Parks and Wildlife Act 1974](/view/html/inforce/current/act-1974-080), is taken to be an identification card issued to the authorised officer under section 12.6 of the new Act.
