Plain English Summary
6/10 complexity
This Direction (commencing 20 July 2010 and running to 31 December 2010) prohibits fishing in the Bass Strait Central Zone Scallop Fishery except inside three explicitly described areas: two rectangular ‘boxes’ and a set of navigation (transit) corridors. It applies to holders of statutory fishing rights and their agents (cl.4). Schedule coordinates use the GDA94 datum; transit corridors allow only processing/carrying/transporting of already-taken fish (cl.7.2). The Direction also revokes the earlier Closures Direction No.1 (cl.3).
Zoe can write the in-depth analysis on top of the summary above: how it works, who it affects and what each part actually does.
