56B Arrest for breach of condition by person outside ACT
(1) This section applies if a police officer reasonably believes that—
(a) a person who has been granted bail in the ACT has failed to
comply with a bail condition; and
(b) the person is in a State or another Territory.
(2) An issuing officer may, on the information of a police officer—
(a) issue a warrant to arrest the person in the State or other Territory
and bring the person before a court; or
(b) issue a summons for the person’s appearance before a court.
(3) In this section
issuing officer, for a warrant, means—
(a) a judge, the registrar or a deputy registrar of the Supreme Court;
or
(b) a magistrate; or
(c) if authorised by the Chief Magistrate to issue a warrant—
the registrar or deputy registrar of the Magistrates Court.
