51 Indemnification of sureties
(1) A person commits an offence if the person indemnifies, or agrees to
indemnify, anyone else against a liability the other person incurs or
may incur as surety for an accused person.
(2) A person commits an offence if the person is indemnified, or agrees
to be indemnified, by someone else against a liability the person
incurs or may incur as surety for an accused person.
(3) For this section, it does not matter whether—
(a) the agreement is for compensation in money or anything else; or
(b) the agreement is made before or after the person indemnified, or
agreed to be indemnified, becomes a surety; or
(c) the person indemnified, or agreed to be indemnified, becomes a
surety.
