14 Grant of bail by authorised officers
(1) Subject to subsection (2), an authorised officer may grant bail in
accordance with this Act to an accused person who is present at a
police station.
(2) An authorised officer must not grant bail to a person accused of an
offence if—
(a) a decision about bail in relation to the offence has been made by
a court; or
(b) the offence is a family violence offence of murder.
Note A reference to an offence against a territory law includes a reference to a
related ancillary offence, eg attempt (see Legislation Act, s 189).
