3 Object

(1) The object of this Act is: (a) to encourage competitive investment and innovation in the Australian automotive industry; and (b) to place the industry on an economically sustainable footing; by providing assistance to a participant in the Automotive Transformation Scheme based on the participant’s investment if the investment is of a kind prescribed by the Scheme. (2) The object is to be achieved in a way that: (a) improves environmental outcomes; and (b) promotes the development of workforce skills.
