19Co‑operation with other authorities in connection with performance of Organisation’s functions

#### 19 Co‑operation with other authorities in connection with performance of Organisation’s functions (1) So far as necessary for, or conducive to, the performance of the Organisation’s functions, the Organisation may, subject to any arrangements made or directions given by the Minister, co‑operate with: (a) authorities of the Commonwealth; and (b) Departments, Police Forces and authorities of the States; and (c) authorities of other countries approved by the Minister as being capable of assisting the Organisation in the performance of its functions; and (d) any other person or body whether within or outside Australia. (2) A person referred to in subsection 18(1) may, where the Organisation is co‑operating with an authority of another country in accordance with paragraph (1)(c), communicate to an officer of that authority information that has come into the possession of the Organisation in the course of performing its functions under section 17, being information that is relevant to the security of that other country and that could not, apart from this subsection, be communicated to that officer. > Note: There are additional restrictions, in the Telecommunications (Interception and Access) Act 1979, on communicating telecommunications information.
