14 What are material activities?

(1) Each of the following is a material activity: (a) having possession or control of NNP material or NNP equipment or plant in a designated zone or an Australian submarine; (b) using NNP material in a designated zone or an Australian submarine; (c) using or operating NNP equipment or plant in a designated zone or an Australian submarine; (d) maintaining, storing or disposing of NNP material or NNP equipment or plant in a designated zone or an Australian submarine.

Note: Paragraphs (a) to (d) are not necessarily mutually exclusive of each other.

(2) However, an activity covered by subsection (1) is not a material activity if the regulations prescribe that the activity is not a material activity.
