Plain English Summary

2/10 complexity

These regulations impose a salary cap for senior appointments at the Australian National Railways Commission: any salary above $16,292 pa (or a higher benchmark based on the top pay for Class 11 APS officers and Engineer Class 4) requires the Transport Minister’s approval. It limits the Commission’s pay-setting autonomy and subjects high senior salaries to ministerial oversight.
