10 Nature of company
> > (1) The company limited by shares to which AMP is converted under this Part is a company by virtue of this Act, but—
> >
> > > (a) it is not a company incorporated, or deemed or taken to be incorporated, under the Companies Code or the [Corporations Law](/view/html/inforce/current/sl-1999-0703), and
> >
> > > (b) it is not a company for the purposes of the Companies Code or the [Corporations Law](/view/html/inforce/current/sl-1999-0703),
> >
> > until it is in fact registered as a company under Division 3 of Part 2.2 of the [Corporations Law](/view/html/inforce/current/sl-1999-0703).
>
> > (2) However, nothing in this Act affects the operation of the [Australian Mutual Provident Society Act 1988](/view/html/inforce/current/act-1988-047) (as amended by this Act), by or under which provisions of the Companies Code apply to AMP and the members and officers of AMP.
