584 Communications and rulings
(1) The legal officer, or the senior legal officer of a formation or other command forming part of a larger formation or other command, shall communicate on questions of military law directly with the legal officer or senior legal officer at the next larger formation or command to which the officer communicating belongs:
Provided that, on the application of any legal officer, a question shall be referred, for opinion, to the Director of Army Legal Services, who may, if it appears to him desirable, submit the question to the Judge‑Advocate‑General for his ruling.
