Plain English Summary

1/10 complexity

What this does: This document officially approves MLA Donor Company Limited as an "approved donor" under the Australian Meat and Live-stock Industry Act 1997.

Who it affects: Primarily MLA Donor Company Limited (likely associated with Meat and Livestock Australia), which gains legal standing to act as a donor under the Act. It also affects the broader meat and livestock industry, as approved donors typically fund research, marketing, or development activities.

Why it matters: Under the Act, only "approved donors" can make certain contributions or participate in specific funding arrangements for the red meat industry. This declaration gives the company legal authority to perform these activities from 21 August 1998 onwards. It is essentially the Minister exercising a power to allow this specific entity to operate within the Act's framework.
