What this does

This regulation scraps a set of old military rules from 1927. Specifically, it repeals (cancels) the Australian Junior Cadet Regulations 1927, which were the rulebook for a youth military training program called the Australian Junior Cadets.

Who it affects

Anyone previously bound by the 1927 Cadet rules—mostly young people in school-based military training and the Defence personnel running those programs—are no longer subject to those specific regulations.

Why it matters

Rather than updating the 1927 rules piece by piece, the government decided to wipe them off the books entirely in 1951. This is a tidy-up exercise: it removes outdated Defence regulations that were made under the Defence Act 1903-1951.

In short: If you were looking for the 1927 Junior Cadet rulebook, it’s gone—this 1951 instrument is the delete button.
