Plain English Summary

1/10 complexity

This regulation is the legislative equivalent of taking out the rubbish. It simply bins an earlier 1979 rulebook (Statutory Rules No. 180) that specified the exact wording for undertakings, oaths and affirmations that AFP members had to use.

What it does:

Cancels the old rules: The previous requirements for how police officers swore their oaths or made affirmations are now dead letter (legally invalid).
Housekeeping: This is purely administrative cleanup—removing redundant procedural formalities that are no longer needed.

Why it matters: If you're an AFP officer, you don't need to worry about the specific archaic wording that was in the old rules. The repeal means those particular formalities are gone, though you'll still need to take oaths or affirmations under whatever current rules apply.
