Plain English Summary

1/10 complexity

This regulation deletes the old AFP discipline rules from 1979.

What it does:

Scraps outdated regulations: It formally removes the Australian Federal Police (Discipline) Regulations 1979, which set out how federal police officers were disciplined decades ago.
Timed handover: It starts operating when the Law Enforcement Integrity Commissioner Act 2006 begins (specifically sections 3 to 224).

Why it matters: This is legislative housekeeping. When the new Integrity Commissioner system was introduced in 2006 to oversee police conduct, the old 1979 discipline framework became obsolete. This instrument simply cleans up the statute book by removing the redundant rules.
