64AMembers in uniform to wear identification numbers

#### 64A Members in uniform to wear identification numbers (1) A member must, at all times when he or she is wearing his or her police uniform, wear his or her identification number clearly visible on the uniform. Penalty: 5 penalty units. (1A) Subsection (1) is an offence of strict liability. > Note: For strict liability, see section 6.1 of the Criminal Code. (2) It is a defence to a prosecution for an offence against subsection (1) if the defendant proves that his or her identification number was not clearly visible on his or her uniform in consequence of: (a) the act of another person (not being a member) done without the consent of the defendant; or (b) an unintentional omission on the part of the defendant. (3) The Commissioner shall take such steps as are necessary to enable members to whom subsection (1) applies to comply with that subsection.
