(2) However:1
(a) the information given, document produced or answer given;2
and3
(b) the giving of the information, the production of the document4
or the answering of the question;5
are not admissible in evidence against the individual in criminal6
proceedings other than proceedings for an offence against7
section 137.1 or 137.2 of the Criminal Code that relates to section8
266.9
(3) If, at general law, an individual would otherwise be able to claim10
the privilege against self-exposure to a penalty (other than a11
penalty for an offence) in relation to giving information, producing12
a document or answering a question under a direction of a kind13
mentioned in subsection 266(4), the individual is not excused from14
giving the information, producing the document or answering the15
question under the direction on that ground.16
