27 Cooperation with other agencies etc. in connection with6
performance of the ACIC’s own functions7
(1) The ACIC may cooperate with the following persons or bodies so8
far as necessary for, or conducive to, the performance of the9
ACIC’s functions:10
(a) an intelligence or security agency;11
(b) a law enforcement agency;12
(c) a Commonwealth body;13
(d) a State agency;14
(e) a Territory agency;15
(f) an authority of another country that is approved by the16
Director-General as being capable of assisting the ACIC in17
the performance of its functions;18
(g) an international body that is approved by the19
Director-General as being capable of assisting the ACIC in20
the performance of its functions.21
(2) The Director-General may, in writing, approve the following:22
(a) an authority for the purposes of paragraph (1)(f);23
(b) an international body for the purposes of paragraph (1)(g).24
(3) The Director-General must:25
(a) as soon as practicable after making the approval, notify the26
Inspector-General of Intelligence and Security of that fact;27
and28
(b) ensure that a copy of the approval is kept by the ACIC; and29
(c) ensure that the copy is available on request by the30
Inspector-General of Intelligence and Security.31
