172 Director-General to give reports about non-compliant action1
(1) The Director-General must give a report under subsection (2) if the2
ACIC identifies that either of the following has occurred:3
(a) a thing done during the execution of a search warrant that4
breaches a condition or restriction that applies to the warrant;5
(b) a thing done by the ACIC which:6
(i) must be authorised by a search warrant; and7
(ii) when done, was not authorised by a search warrant.8
(2) The Director-General must, as soon as practicable after the ACIC9
identifies that the doing of the thing has occurred, give a written10
report to the Attorney-General, the Minister and the11
Inspector-General of Intelligence and Security.12
(3) The report must contain details of:13
(a) the nature of the thing that was done; and14
(b) the steps taken by the ACIC to reduce the likelihood of15
reoccurrence of that kind of thing being done.16
