156 Director-General may request premises search warrants2
(1) The Director-General may request the Attorney-General to issue a3
warrant authorising the ACIC to do a thing referred to in4
subsection 158(1) in respect of particular premises.5
(2) The request must specify:6
(a) the address, location or other description of the premises; and7
(b) the facts and other grounds on which the Director-General8
considers it necessary that the warrant should be issued.9
(3) The request must be in writing unless the Director-General10
considers it necessary, because of urgent circumstances, to make11
the request orally.12
(4) If the Director-General makes the request orally, the13
Director-General must:14
(a) provide all information required to be provided in a written15
request; and16
(b) as soon as practicable, forward to the Attorney-General a17
written record of the request.18
