130 Attorney-General may grant CIO authorities18
Attorney-General may grant CIO authority19
(1) If the Director-General requests an authority to conduct a20
controlled intelligence operation, the Attorney-General may21
authorise the controlled intelligence operation by granting the22
authority if the Attorney-General is satisfied that there are23
reasonable grounds for believing that the matters in subsection (2)24
exist.25
Note 1: For requirements relating to granting a CIO authority, see section 137.26
Note 2: A CIO authority granted under this section must cease before the end27
of 12 months after the day the authority comes into force: see28
paragraph 138(1)(e).29
