Functions of Electoral Commission in relation to general elections 12. The Electoral Commission has the following functions in relation to general elections: (a) to perform functions that are permitted or required to be performed by or under this Act, not being: (i) functions that a specified person or body, or the holder of a specified office, is expressly permitted or required to perform; or (ii) functions that consist of appointing a person to an office; and (b) to promote public awareness of matters relating to general elections and matters relating to the Assembly by means of the conduct of education and information programs and by other means.
