Plain English Summary

2/10 complexity

The Minister for Home Affairs has formally declared the 2024 ASEAN–Australia Special Commemorative Summit a “major national event,” with the declaration taking effect the day after registration. The instrument itself is a trigger only — it does not set rules, fees or obligations; its practical legal and operational effects flow from the AusCheck Act 2007, so organisers, attendees and agencies should consult that Act and related guidance.
