61 Right of member to attend and vote at general meeting (1) At any general meeting of an incorporated association, the association must not do anything with the intention of preventing— (a) any member of the association from attending the meeting; or (b) any member who is entitled to do so from voting at the meeting. (2) Subsection (1) does not apply in relation to a member of the association whose rights as a member have been suspended under the rules of the association. (3) A contravention of subsection (1) by an incorporated association constitutes oppressive conduct by the association for the purposes of section 68. Under section 68, a member of an incorporated association who believes that the association has engaged, or proposes to engage, in oppressive conduct may apply to the Magistrates' Court for an order seeking relief from the conduct.
