### 3 Commonwealth Corporations legislation excluded from applying to incorporated associations > *\[Section 3 Amended by No. 9 of 1982, s. 7 and Sched. 10 \]**\[Section 3 Repealed by No. 13 of 1993, s. 5 \]* > > > (1)  An incorporated association is declared to be an excluded matter for the purposes of section 5F of the Corporations Act in relation to the whole of the Corporations legislation other than to the extent referred to in [subsection (2)](#GS3@Gs2@EN) . > > > (2)  [Subsection (1)](#GS3@Gs1@EN) does not apply – > > > > > > (a) [*\[Section 3 Subsection (2) amended by No. 69 of 2003, Sched. 1, Applied:15 Dec 2003\]*](/view/html/inforce/2003-12-15/act-2003-069#JS1@Ja2@GC1@EN) to the extent specified in [section 24A](#GS24A@EN) , [section 25B(1)](#GS25B@Gs1@EN) , [section 31A](#GS31A@EN) and [section 32](#GS32@EN) ; and > > > > > > > (b) to the extent necessary for an association that is a company under the Corporations Act to be deregistered as a company under Chapter 5A of that Act. > > > (3)  [Subsection (1)](#GS3@Gs1@EN) extends to a company within the meaning of the Corporations Act as soon as it becomes an incorporated association under this Act. > > > (4)  [Subsection (1)](#GS3@Gs1@EN) has effect only for so long as a body is an incorporated association under this Act.
