Plain English Summary

1/10 complexity

These Rules abolish the previous regulations governing Associate Diplomas at the Australian National University (ANU). An Associate Diploma is a vocational or paraprofessional qualification that sits below a bachelor degree, typically taking one to two years of study.

What it does:

Repeals the Associate Diplomas Rules 2006 — effectively cancelling the previous regulations that set out how these qualifications were structured, managed, and awarded.

Who it affects:

Current and prospective ANU students who were enrolled in or planning to enroll in Associate Diploma programs.
University staff responsible for administering these qualifications.

Why it matters:

This clears the way for either discontinuing these specific qualifications at ANU or transferring them under different governance rules (such as the general awards or programs rules).
It cleans up the university's statute book by removing outdated course regulations that are no longer needed.
