74 Director-general may authorise destruction of records (1) Despite anything else in this part, a person may destroy a pre-commencement record during the retention period if authorised in writing by the director-general. (2) The director-general may authorise the destruction of a pre-commencement record only if satisfied that no person would be adversely affected by the destruction of the record. The director-general authorises destruction of pre-commencement records because the records relate to gametes that no longer exist and the director-general is satisfied that no person was born as a result of ART treatment using the gametes. Division 6.3 Access to information held by ART providers Note This division deals with access to information about ART services, including ART services provided before the commencement day, that may not be kept in the donor register.
