What it does

Relieves Market Participants from the obligation to comply with Part 5.11 of the ASX Rules
Acts as a "class waiver" — meaning it applies to any entity that qualifies as a Market Participant, not just one specific company

Who it affects

Any financial services business that operates as a Market Participant on the Australian Securities Exchange (ASX)

When it applied

From the date of registration (September 2012) until 19 January 2013 inclusive
After this date, the exemption expired and normal compliance obligations resumed

Why it matters During this limited window, affected traders could conduct business without meeting the specific regulatory requirements contained in Part 5.11, though all other ASX Market Integrity Rules remained in force.
