Plain English Summary

1/10 complexity

This instrument repeals (cancels) an earlier ASIC decision known as Class Order [CO 00/44].

What is this? ASIC Class Orders are official decisions that temporarily change how corporate laws apply to specific groups or situations—often providing exemptions or modifications to standard rules under the Corporations Act 2001.

What does this do? It removes Class Order [CO 00/44] from operation. This means whatever special exemption, relief, or rule modification that the 2000 order provided no longer applies. Entities that were relying on CO 00/44 would need to ensure they comply with the standard Corporations Act requirements instead, unless another exemption applies.

Who is affected? Any businesses or individuals who were relying on the relief or special rules provided by the repealed 2000 class order.
