This Appropriation Act authorises an additional $407.4 million of Australian Government spending for 1982–83, backdated to 1 July 1982, to be withdrawn from the Consolidated Revenue Fund.
It funds capital and program spending across departments—notably Aviation (Qantas/ANA), Transport (shipping and Hobart Bridge), Communications (AUSSAT), Veterans’ housing—and includes targeted grants and ministerial discretion for specific Tasmanian, South Australian and New South Wales arrangements.

An Act to appropriate a sum out of the Consolidated Revenue Fund, additional to the sum appropriated by the Appropriation Act (No. 2) 1982-83 and the Appropriation Act (No. 4) 1982-83 for certain expenditure in respect of the year ending on 30 June 1983

BE IT ENACTED by the Queen, and the Senate and the House of Representatives of the Commonwealth of Australia, as follows:

Payments to States and Northern Territory
(a) on such terms and conditions as are from time to time determined by the Minister for Transport as being the terms and conditions applicable to payments to or for Tasmania for the construction of the second Hobart Bridge; and
(b) in accordance with any determinations of the Minister for Finance as to the amounts and times of payments.
(2) Payments to South Australia out of such of the moneys appropriated by this Act as are specified in item 7 of Division 932 in the Schedule shall be made—
(a) on such terms and conditions as are from time to time determined by the Minister for Primary Industry as being the terms and conditions applicable to payments to South Australia for forestry and forest products industry reconstruction; and
(b) in accordance with any determinations of the Minister for Primary Industry as to the amounts and times of payments.
(3) Payments to New South Wales out of such of the moneys appropriated by this Act as are specified in item 8 of Division 932 in the Schedule shall be made—
(a) on such terms and conditions as are from time to time determined by the Minister for Primary Industry as being the terms and conditions applicable to payments to New South Wales to assist the Letona Co-op Limited; and
(b) in accordance with any determinations of the Minister for Primary Industry as to the amounts and times of payments.
