7 Management of animals
[Section 7 Amended by No. 26 of 2008, s. 6, Applied:29 Jul 2008] A person who has the care or charge of an animal or group of animals must not use a method of management of the animal or group which is reasonably likely to result in unreasonable and unjustifiable pain or suffering to the animal or an animal in the group.
Penalty: [Section 7 Amended by No. 13 of 2002, s. 5, Applied:25 Jun 2002] In the case of –
(a) [Section 7 Amended by No. 26 of 2008, s. 6, Applied:29 Jul 2008] [Section 7 Amended by No. 18 of 2015, s. 6, Applied:24 Jun 2015] a body corporate, a fine not exceeding 1 000 penalty units; or
(b) [Section 7 Amended by No. 26 of 2008, s. 6, Applied:29 Jul 2008] [Section 7 Amended by No. 18 of 2015, s. 6, Applied:24 Jun 2015] a natural person, a fine not exceeding 200 penalty units or imprisonment for a term not exceeding 6 months, or both.
