sch.2-sec.38 Caring for orphaned piglets
If a sow dies and a piglet of the sow has not been weaned or is not receiving adequate nutrition, a person in charge of the piglet must ensure the piglet is— fostered by another sow; or weaned; or hand-reared; or humanely killed. If a sow is required to foster a piglet, a person in charge of the sow must ensure the sow is given appropriate additional care to ensure the sow’s good health and welfare. regular exercise, additional nutrition, close supervision (sch.2-sec.38-ssec.1) If a sow dies and a piglet of the sow has not been weaned or is not receiving adequate nutrition, a person in charge of the piglet must ensure the piglet is— fostered by another sow; or weaned; or hand-reared; or humanely killed.
