sec.166 Failure to comply with information requirement
A person of whom an information requirement has been made must comply with the requirement unless the person has a reasonable excuse. Maximum penalty—50 penalty units. It is a reasonable excuse— for an individual not to give information if giving the information might tend to incriminate the person; or if the information sought by the requirement is not in fact relevant to— for a requirement about a suspected contravention of this Act—the suspected contravention; or for a requirement about whether an animal welfare direction has been complied with—the compliance or non-compliance with the direction. s 166 amd 2003 No. 82 s 4 (sec.166-ssec.1) A person of whom an information requirement has been made must comply with the requirement unless the person has a reasonable excuse. (sec.166-ssec.2) It is a reasonable excuse— for an individual not to give information if giving the information might tend to incriminate the person; or if the information sought by the requirement is not in fact relevant to— for a requirement about a suspected contravention of this Act—the suspected contravention; or for a requirement about whether an animal welfare direction has been complied with—the compliance or non-compliance with the direction.
