What this document does

This is a formal proclamation by the Governor-General that sets 1 January 2015 as the date when the first parts of the Albury-Wodonga Development Corporation (Abolition) Act 2014 come into force (legally commence).

Key points:

What is being abolished: The Albury-Wodonga Development Corporation — a federal body that historically oversaw planning and development in the Albury-Wodonga region on the New South Wales-Victoria border.
What starts on this date: Parts 1 and 2 of Schedule 1 to the Act (typically covering preliminary provisions and the actual abolition of the Corporation).
Why this matters: This document is the legal trigger. Without this proclamation, the Act would remain dormant and the Corporation would continue to exist. By signing this, the Governor-General activates the abolition process.
