Plain English Summary

1/10 complexity

This document is a commencement proclamation—a formal order that switches on sections 3 to 15 of the Airspace Act 2007 so they become legally enforceable.

What it does

Fixes 1 July 2007 as the day the majority of the Airspace Act takes effect (sections 3–15)
Signed by the Governor‑General on 21 June 2007, giving ten days' notice before the law activates

Why it matters

Before this proclamation was signed, those sections were written but had no legal force—they were "sleeping" provisions
This triggers the main framework for regulating Australian airspace, including definitions, constitutional support, and core administrative powers

Who it affects

Civil aviation authorities, airlines, and pilots (who must now comply with the activated rules)
The general public (as airspace management becomes legally enforceable)
