13  Testing

  A test required to be carried out under this instrument must be carried out by a laboratory accredited by NATA to carry out that type of test, as follows:

 (a) if NATA has approved a method for carrying out that type of test—using the method approved by NATA for that type of test;

 (b) if paragraph (a) does not apply but a method for carrying out that type of test has been approved by an agency of a State or Territory that is responsible for matters relating to the protection of the environment in the State or Territory—using the method approved by the State or Territory agency;

 (c) if neither paragraph (a) nor (b) applies—using a method for carrying out that type of test approved by:

 (i) USEPA; or

 (ii) the American Public Health Association; or

 (iii) ASTM International.
