Plain English Summary

3/10 complexity

This instrument temporarily adds a new navigation point called "DUKES" to flight corridor H345 between Melbourne and Adelaide.

What it does:

New waypoint: Adds a fixed geographic point at latitude 36°04'50"S, longitude 140°15'02"E to the route. This point marks where aircraft begin their standard arrival procedure (STAR — a pre-planned descent path) into Adelaide.
Route details: Describes the full path from Melbourne's radio beacon (VOR) to Adelaide's radio beacon (VOR), listing intermediate waypoints and flight levels.
Time limit: The designation applies from 30 August 2007 to 22 November 2007.

Why it matters: This ensures pilots and air traffic controllers use consistent, safe navigation paths when flying between these cities.

Made under the Air Services Regulations 1995 by Airservices Australia (the government body managing Australian airspace).
