Plain English Summary

2/10 complexity

Mechanically, this determination repeals a 2008 instrument and sets two narrow exemptions to subsection 12(1) of the Air Navigation Act 1920: scheduled international services that transit Australian territory without landing, and services that land but do not embark or disembark passengers or cargo for reward. It applies to international airlines and operators conducting those transits or non‑revenue stops, reducing the need for an international airline licence for those specific flights (see sections 3, 6 and Schedule 1).
