What this Act does

This Act fixes a bureaucratic mistake. The Air Force had created regulations about canteens (shops or facilities selling goods to Air Force members) that accidentally weren't presented to Parliament as required by law. Under the Acts Interpretation Act, this technical slip meant the regulations were void and legally invalid.

The fix

The Act declares those canteen regulations legally valid anyway, backdating their effect to 1 September 1957. This ensures that any actions taken under the regulations—such as spending money, managing canteens, or providing services—during the period they were technically invalid are now legally sound.

Who it affects

Primarily affects Air Force personnel and canteen operators, validating any decisions or transactions made under the regulations between September 1957 and when this Act became law.
