Plain English Summary

1/10 complexity

What this does: This instrument scraps an old rulebook from 2008 that set timeframes for assessing agricultural and veterinary chemical applications when companies voluntarily submitted extra information.

Who it affects: Primarily the Australian Pesticides and Veterinary Medicines Authority (APVMA) and companies registering pesticides or veterinary medicines.

Why it matters: It’s a housekeeping measure. The repeal takes effect when Schedules 1–6 of the Agricultural and Veterinary Chemicals Legislation Amendment Act 2013 begin, ensuring old assessment period rules don’t conflict with new laws.
